"Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “A person might fast and he gets nothing from his fast but hunger. A person might pray at night but he gets nothing from his prayer but sleeplessness.”"

"Mujahid reported: We were with Abdullah ibn Amr and his servant was preparing a roasted sheep. Abdullah said, “O boy, when you are finished then begin with our Jewish neighbor.” A man said, “Jewish? May Allah correct you!” Abdullah said, “Indeed, I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, enjoin goodness upon the neighbor so often that we thought he would make them our heirs.”"
